Glencoe Farm

Glencoe Farm is situated at Waianakarua, North Otago and is a beef unit with lamb finishing in Summer. Total farm area is 2,000 has with approximately 440has of cultivated land, 300has oversown and topdressed tussock, 700has undeveloped tussock and the remainder in native bush. This property rises from 1,200 feet to 2,200 feet.

Glencoe receives an annual rainfall of 750mm which is reasonably reliable being in the Kakanui Range. Soils are a combination of Kirkliston hill soils and Hurunui steep land soils on river faces. Paddocks are on rolling to hill country. The Farm Manager has one permanent staff.

Access

Glencoe Farm is and is not a public area. Any use or road access is a revocable privilege granted by the farm owner. The formed roads and tracks are not maintained and can be hazardous following adverse weather conditions and other hazards which are not signposted or marked. The farm owner may consent to road access by the public only on the basis that each person stays on the formed road, travels at their own risk, accepts full responsibility for their own safety and accepts that the farm owner has no liability or responsibility of any sort for any injury, damage or accident to any person or property that enter Glencoe Farm. You drive at your own risk.

There are no breakdown services and cost of vehicle recovery will be paid by the vehicle owner.

Glencoe is a farmed property so please leave your dogs and domestic pets at home, leave gates as you find them and respect stock, property and other users.

Hunters gaining access through Glencoe farm to neighbouring DoC reserves must obtain permission from the Glencoe Farm Manager (Dan Burke 027 2823737) prior to accessing this farm. This is a safety issue first and foremost.
