Grant and Ele Ludemann are the owners of the EGL Pastoral Group. Grant began farming by purchasing the neighbouring property to the family farm in 1967 and has grown the business to 12 properties. 3 intensive lamb finishing farms, a beef and lamb hill country farm and a large scale breeding, beef, and lamb finishing operation. The dairy operation in North Otago has 4 dairy units and these are supported by 3 runoff properties.

EGL Pastoral’s main focus is to achieve high quality presentation of stock and milk production that carry a reputation of quality, excellence and integrity.
We aim:
- to operate a business that is satisfying and rewarding to both the farm owners and employees
- to operate a profitable, sustainable, flexible and innovative pastoral farming business
Research
We were involved in the Central Progeny Trial until 2018 carried out by an outside institution and we complete our own trials in an effort to improve our business results.
